Kitchens
A Solid Foundation. Your Choice of Finish.
Our kitchen cabinet carcasses use blockboard, with a range of front options. Upper and lower cabinets can have different finishes to create your preferred combination.
Front options
Kitchen fronts come in many materials, finishes and claddings. Arcasa follows developments in the market and looks for modern, high-quality options, and alternatives, that suit how you use your kitchen and your budget. Below are examples of the options we offer; your engineer shows you the approved samples.
Board: the base panel of the front (blockboard or MDF). Cladding: a layer bonded onto the board. Finish: the final surface and its sheen, matt or gloss.
HPLCladding on blockboard or MDF
- What it is
- A high-pressure laminate (HPL) sheet bonded as a cladding onto a blockboard or MDF board, depending on the specification.
- Advantages
- A practical surface for daily use, in many colours, wood looks and textures.
- Limits and care
- Edges are finished according to the approved material and specification; their final look depends on how they are made. Clean with a soft, damp cloth and avoid abrasive cleaners. A damaged surface is usually replaced rather than repaired locally.
- Suits
- Busy family kitchens and anyone who wants an easy-care surface.
Poly LacReady coated panel on MDF
- What it is
- A ready-made MDF panel supplied with a factory-applied decorative surface. It is not a polyurethane (PU) paint sprayed in the workshop. The type of surface layer and its properties depend on the product and the supplier.
- Advantages
- A consistent factory finish, matt or gloss, from the samples and colours available at the time of contract.
- Limits and care
- Edges are finished according to the approved specification. A damaged surface usually means replacing the panel rather than touching it up. Clean with a soft cloth and avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Suits
- Those who want an even colour and a ready factory finish.
UV LacFinish on MDF
- What it is
- A lacquer finish on an MDF board, cured under ultraviolet light during production.
- Advantages
- A hard, even surface, matt or gloss, from the samples available at the time of contract.
- Limits and care
- Local touch-up of a damaged area is limited, and replacing the panel may be needed. Clean with a soft cloth and avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Suits
- Those who want a uniform, smooth surface.
AcrylicCladding on MDF
- What it is
- An acrylic sheet bonded as a cladding onto an MDF board, matt or gloss according to the samples.
- Advantages
- A deep, even colour: gloss gives a reflective look, matt a soft, calm surface.
- Limits and care
- How much fingerprints and fine marks show depends on the colour and sheen you choose, so check the sample. Clean with a soft microfibre cloth and avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Suits
- Contemporary kitchens, with a gloss or matt look.
Natural woodSolid wood or veneer
- What it is
- Solid wood, or a natural wood veneer on a board, depending on the approved design and specification, with a finish suited to kitchen use.
- Advantages
- Natural grain and warmth; every piece is unique.
- Limits and care
- Colour and grain vary naturally; this is not a defect. Wood is not fully water-resistant: wipe spills promptly and avoid standing water, steam and direct heat.
- Suits
- Warm, classic or natural-style kitchens.
The market offers many other material and finish options, and the Arcasa team keeps up with their development. You can discuss them with our design engineers to choose what best suits your kitchen design, your use and your budget, according to the samples and availability at the time of contract.
